:-( This blog is going up late... I had to stay up and watch the election results... Now that all of that is over, we can get down to business. The Holidays... Thanksgiving and Christmas that is.
First there is Thanksgiving... This holiday we are supposed to be thankful for_____________________. You can fill in the blank or blanks for yourself. We have all the standards of course: Family, Friends, etc., but what about the things that are not so pleasant? We tend to ignore those even though they are part of who we are. For example; Food Allergies.
Many people can't enjoy some of the same dishes as those who do not have allergies. If you have invited someone to your home for Thanksgiving Dinner, and you know they have say a allergy to peanuts, ask them if they can eat walnuts... if they can, alter the recipe (such as a dessert) that calls for peanuts but change it to walnuts...
Or if it is a bring- a -dish type of dinner, have them bring a dish that is something they can have and encourage other guest to try it... They maybe surprised and fall in love with it.
So try be thankful for your dilemma, you may turn someone onto a new amazing dish...
Until next time when I will discuss a new topic for the Holidays...
Keep on Cookin,
