I always try to use local farmers markets to get my fresh fruits and vegetables. If that isn't possible I try to pick fruits and vegetables that are grown in the USA. Our countries farmers need all the support they can get. I know it isn't always possible, but it is worth a shot, especially when cooking a meal that is international.
